If we were in space, acording to Spaceweather.com, we would see the Moon eclipse the Sun almost 90% for 2.5 hours starting at 13:31 UTC.
Today, at 21:39 UT we have the New Moon very adventurous and colossal (see more here) and the Sun will be in conjunction with the Moon from the geocentric viewpoint just like every New Moon.
Approximately 8 hours before, at 13:31 UTC a Lunar transit is announced and it will eclipse almost 90% of the Sun for 2.5 hours, though you would have to be in space to see it. The space telescope SDO (Solar Dynamics Observatory) solar powered has taken its precautions to endure the “blackout”. The following video has an animation of such transit. In the meantime…
