And, besides that, The Overflow is not the event or fact itself, it comes implicit, sometimes coded, and it’s hardly mentioned.

Letter to the Great Duchess
It’s the letter written by Galieleo Galilei towards April 1615, trying to demonstrate that the Earth turning around the Sun was not against the biblical precepts of the Catholic church which held the Earth as the center of the universe. In March 20, 1615, an ‘official’ letter is presented denouncing Galileo before the Inquisition, although the process of attacks starts in 1610. The process had many phases, and only in 1633, 18 years later and a return date for eclipse SAROS 135, will he receive sentence from the inquisition trial, finding him guilty of heressy for sustaining ‘opinions’ against the ‘Holy Scriptures’, forcing Galileo to retract and condemning him to prison which was served with home arrest.
Neither the arguments of the letter, no its wide circulation, or the fact that it became a veryimportant element in the process versus Galileo, or the process that lasted many years, accounts for a much wider and deep process crossing ‘official’ positions on sciences and questioned religious dogma, which held that the ‘world’ was firmly established and did not move, and after sunrise and sunset the Sun returned to its place according to their scriptures, which could not be doubted and much less question them.
It’s not the heliocentric view either, which since 1533 was questioning scientific and religious circles of those times with Copernicus approach, and many centuries before it was proposed by Pythagoras, but there were many others before and afte who did not make it to the official history.
However, it’s around Galileo that unstoppable processes unfold within the matrix of western culture and which will have repercussions for the next five centuries:
- separation of science from religious precepts built by earthly powers
- expansion of Cosmology that with the heliocentric view started to discover again infinite centers
- the impact of an infinite cosmology with impact on scientific, social, and political aspects, and other dimensions
Today, Copernicus and Galileo are still spoken of, in scientifica as well as religious circles, the Vatican announced an exhibition of documents from the Galileo Affair for the first months of 2012, and, during the last decades debates continue in the Catholic Church aroud how ‘fair’ or not was Galileo’s trial, which has little relevance today, and during the last five centuries science, and all its disciplines, are still under re-writing process from day to day.
In 1875 (year of the Saros eclipse 135), although the month was not found and could be it was not November when the eclipse returned, Benoit Mandelbrot coined for the first time the term ”fractal’, overflowing again science with expanding possibilities, and of course Cosmology, involving or course other disciplines such as mathematics, physics and geometry. Eighteen years later, in 1993, anothe Saros eclipse 135 return date, genetics made it official the possibility of human cloning.
In 1615 humankind and the planet were taken off from the center of the world, today in 2011 physical possibilities to be here and in other worlds simultaneously are debated. The following news from last weeks illustrate the expansion of science still under re-writing process:
